Help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis
On Friday, February 12, 2010 we had a visit from our special friend, Sal Pinardo. He visited with every class and spoke to the students about Cystic Fibrosis. The students asked questions and Sal told them how CF affects his daily life and how his treatment for the disease. Sal even stayed for a few Valentine’s Day parties as well as our dance that evening. The students enjoyed the visit and we are looking forward to raising money for CF and attending the Great Strides Walk in the spring.
Sal is a 7 year old boy who has Cystic Fibrosis and his family is working hard to help find a cure. Sal has been working with Mr. Taylor for the last 5 years to raise money and to help educate students about C.F. Sal and his mother Jenny Pinardo visited classrooms and provided a presentation to our students on C.F. and how it affects their lives. Eagle Point student council raised $1,000.00 in 2009 by having a "penny race" and a pajama day at school. Thank you for all of your kindness. Here is a picture of Sal when he visited Mr. Taylor at East Broadway Middle School. Sal spoke with students in 7th and 8th grade about CF.
